Joan was born on November 12th, 1942 in Halliwell.1  Joan's father was Joseph Heaton and her mother was Edith Sofield.  Her paternal grandparents were John Heaton and Mary Alice Woods.  She died at the age of 80 on April 28th, 2023 in Bolton.1

‌Joan and Frank were married in a religious ceremony on March 30th, 1968 in Walmsley.1   They had a daughter named Joanne.
