Ann was born in September 1810 in Bolton and her baptism took place on September 23rd, 1810 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1 2  Ann's father was Richard Hardman and her mother was Betty (Elizabeth) Brook.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Brook and Sarah Nuttall.

‌Ann and Thomas were married in a religious ceremony on April 4th, 1831 at St. Peter's (Bolton).2
