George was born in 1827 in Liverpool and his baptism took place on January 22nd, 1827 at St. Peter (Liverpool).1  George's father was John Hale and his mother was Alice Malloy. He had four brothers and a sister, named Robert, <Unknown>, James, Richard and Alice.  He was the second oldest of the six children.
