William was born in 1627 in Guiseley and her baptism took place there on September 2nd, 1627.1  William's father was John Grimshaw and her mother was Anne Coulton.  Her paternal grandparents were William Grimshaw and Sibbell Marshall. She had two sisters named Mercy and Mary.  She was the oldest of the three children.
