Christopher's father was William Grimshaw and his mother was Sibbell Marshall. He had two brothers and a sister, named John, Benjamin and Mercy.  He was the second oldest of the four children.

‌Christopher and Mercy were married in a religious ceremony on April 7th, 1630 in Guiseley.²
