Betty was born on June 10th, 1803 in Harwood and her baptism took place on June 10th, 1803 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Betty's father was Richard Greenhalgh and her mother was Ann Tootil. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Robert, John, Ann and Mary. She had an adopted brother named Richard.
