Ann was born in July 1808 in Harwood and her baptism took place on July 3rd, 1808 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Ann's father was Richard Greenhalgh and her mother was Ann Tootil. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Robert, John, Betty and Mary. She had an adopted brother named Richard.
