Rachel's father was John Entwistle and her mother was Alice Waddicor. She had four brothers and a sister, named William, James, Ralph, Lawrence and Lydia.  She was the second oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 32 in July 1864 in Over Darwen.  She was buried on July 10th, 1864 in Over Darwen.³
