Ernest was born on November 23rd, 1868 in Almondbury.1  Ernest's father was Daniel Dyson and his mother was Lucy Thorpe.  His paternal grandparents were John Dyson and Mary Raynor; his maternal grandparents were William Thorpe and Elizabeth Wilkinson.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 71 in 1939 in Huddersfield.2

‌Ernest and Hannah were married.  They had two sons and three daughters, named Frederick, Leslie, Gwendoline, Elsie and Barbara.  There are no more children.
