William was born in May 1837 in Friarmere and his baptism took place there on May 28th, 1837.1 2  William's father was Edmund Buckley and his mother was Mary Ann Richardson.  His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Buckley and Betty Buckley. He had a brother named Benjamin.  He was the younger of the two children.
