James was born in March 1798 in Chadderton and his baptism took place on April 1st, 1798 at St. Leonard (Middleton).1  James' father was John Buckley and his mother was Ann Hilton. He had three sisters named Ellen, Mary and Mary.  He was the second youngest of the four children.  He died at 9 months old in December 1798 in Chadderton.  He was buried on December 27th, 1798 at St. Leonard (Middleton).1 1
