Ann was born in 1834 in Delph.1  Ann's father was Philip Buckley and her mother was Joanna (Nanny) Brierley. She had two brothers and two sisters, named John, James, Betty and Mary.  She was the oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 73 in 1907.

‌Ann and Benjamin were married in a religious ceremony on September 4th, 1854 at St. Chad (Rochdale).2  They had five sons and two daughters, named Edmund, Henry, Philip, William, Esther, Hannah and Mary.  There are no more children.
