Sarah was born in 1870 in Little Bolton.1  Sarah's father was Benjamin  Booth and her mother was Margaret Brooks.  Her maternal grandparents were James Brooks and Ann Swan. She had four brothers and a sister, named Benjamin, John, Frank, James and Margaret.  She was the oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 72 in January 1942 in Bolton.  Her burial was on January 10th, 1942 at Tonge-with-Haulgh Cemetery.
