William was born about 1740.  William's father was Thomas Brereton and his mother was Elizabeth Rowe.  His paternal grandparents were William Brereton and Jane Pate. He had three brothers and two sisters, named John, William, William, Alice and Elizabeth.  He died in June 1742 in Farndon.  He was buried on June 13th, 1742 at St. Chad (Farndon).1
