Mary was born in March 1759 in Nantwich and her baptism took place on March 4th, 1759 in Acton by Nantwich.1  Mary's father was Rowland Brereton and her mother was Sarah Ashley.  Her paternal grandparents were William Brereton and Sarah Shelley. She had a brother and four sisters, named Thomas, Martha, Ann, Elizabeth and Mary.  She was the oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 9 in November 1768 in Nantwich.  She was buried on November 18th, 1768 in Acton by Nantwich.1
