Elizabeth was born in 1805 in Harwood and her christening took place on September 25th, 1805 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Elizabeth's father was Thomas Bolton and her mother was Mary Ramsden.  Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Bolton and Alice Yates. She had two sisters named Ann and Thomas.  She was the oldest of the three children.
