Ann was born in 1808 in Harwood and her christening took place on March 9th, 1808 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Ann's father was Thomas Bolton and her mother was Mary Ramsden.  Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Bolton and Alice Yates. She had two sisters named Elizabeth and Thomas.  She was the second oldest of the three children.
