Charles was born in December 1869 in West Derby.1  Charles' father was James Bevan and his mother was Mary Wynn.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Bevan and Elizabeth Bevan. He had a brother named James.  He was the older of the two children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named John, Martha and Emma.  He died at the age of 1 in June 1871 in West Derby.2
