22 Apr 1822, there was a Samuel Astley who married Mary Ann Simmons at Wolverhampton. This could be him as there is a Shropshire death in 1853, aged 64. However the 1841 census shows Samuel and Mary (45 & 40) were from Worcestershire.
Samuel died Sep 1830, aged 44 (i.e. 5 years too old), so this may not be him. Howsever, there is no other corresponding Bolton birth in 1786.
Samuel and Nanny were married on September 21st, 1814 in Bolton.4
