Reed's father was Evan (Irvin) Bennett Arthur and his mother was Azalea Elizabeth Evans. His paternal grandparents were Edward James Arthur and Catherine Bennett. He had two brothers and a sister, named Evan, Allen and Catherine. He was the youngest of the four children. He had a half-sister named Maxine. He died at the age of 89 on January 12th, 1994 in Idaho (ID). His burial was on January 15th, 1994.¹
