Jacques-Thimothée was born on January 12th, 1660 in Chàteau-Richer, Montmorency, Qc, Canada.  Jacques-Thimothée's father was Julien Fortin and his mother was Geneviève Gamache.  His paternal grandparents were Julien Fortin and Juliette Guillemin; his maternal grandparents were Nicolas I Gamache and Jacqueline Cadot. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Charles, Eustache, Jean, Joseph, Julien, Louis, Pierre, Barbe, Geneviève, Marguerite and Marie-Anne.  He died at the age of 70 on February 28th, 1730 in Petite-Rivière-St-Francois, Qc, Canada.
