Charles was born on May 3rd, 1629 in Mortagne, Perche, Orne, France.  Charles' father was Zacharie Cloutier and his mother was Xaintes Dupont.  His paternal grandparents were Denis Cloutier and Jeanne Rahir Gauthier; his maternal grandfather was Michel Dupont and his maternal grandmother is Perrine  N Inconnue. He had two brothers and a sister, named Pierre, Jean and Anne.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 80 on June 5th, 1709 in Chàteau-Richer, Montmorency, Qc, Canada.
