Obituary:
Doral Clinton "Doc" Dye, 85, of 32nd Street, Parkersburg, died July
30, 2001, in Washington County, Ohio.
He was born February 17, 1916, in Wirt County, a son of the late
Ward A. and Linnia Price Dye. He was a World War II Army veteran and
was formerly employed by Giant Dollar. He was retired from IGA as a
meat cutter and worked part time at the Foodland on Emerson Avenue,
Parkersburg. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and American
Legion Post 15.
Survivors include his wife, Delphia Curfman Dye; two sons, Wiley
Westfall of Slate and Larry Westfall of Boaz; three daughters,
Delores Arauz of Marion, SC, Darlene Parsons of Parkersburg and
Denise Parsons of Williamstown; two brothers, Carl Dye of Pettyville
and Basil Dye of Reedy; two sisters, Mary Faust of Johnstown and
Sylvia Deem of Vienna; eight grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Thelma Dye and
three brothers, Clifford, Award and Melvin Dye.
Services were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral
Home on Green Street in Parkersburg with the Rev. Jim Yoak
officiating. Burial is in Sunset Memory Gardens with military rites
by the American Legion Post 15.
