Margariet's father was Laurens Duyts and her mother was Ytie Jansen.  Her paternal grandfather was Derick Duytszen; her maternal grandparents were Jan Aartse and Kijsie Pieters. She had two brothers named Jan and Hans.  She was the oldest of the three children. She had a half-sister named Catreyn.  She died at the age of 94 in 1733.
