3384 DR. JOSEPH FRANKLIN JEWETT (Joseph1xx7, Joseph7x0, Nathan2xx, Joseph109, Joseph22, Joseph4, Edward1), was born in Granby, Conn., Aug. 22, 1788. He married Aug. 18, 1813, Elizabeth Bancroft Reed, who was born in Granville, Mass., May 15, 1790, and died in Granby April 20, 1839. Dr. Jewett resided in Granby, where he practiced medicine until his death. He received the honorary degree of M. D. from Yale in 1841; held many town offices, and was prominent in social affairs. He died in Granby Jan. 5, 1860. The High Priest of Lafayette Chapter of Masons said of him:---"To high attainments in Masonry he added the excellence of professional distinction, the graces of a life of unselfishness, and the blessedness of the largest Christian home."

5848 Charlotte Amelia, born Dec. 6, 1822; married Stiles W. Reed, who was born in West Granby, Conn., Feb. 22, 1820, son of Shaler and Laura (Farnum) Reed. He was a farmer and settled in Enfield, Conn. She died July 2, 1903. One child, Edward Franklin, born in Enfield, May 29, 1850, died Sept. ---, 1888.

5851 Cornelia Amanda, born July 17, 1831; married Jan. 13, 1859, Lucius Cowen of Woodstock, Vt., who died Oct. 24,1859. She died in Southwick, Mass., March 31, 1882, s. p.
