Herman's father was Francis (Frank) Sancomb and his mother is Harriet Fayette.  His paternal grandparents were Julius Sancomb and Josephine Nee...; his maternal grandparents are Harrison Flavien Fayette and Harriet Sherwin. He had a brother and three sisters, named Elmer, Jessie, Genevieve and Maude.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 75 on June 1st, 1967 in Malone, Franklin County, New York.¹
