Edward was born on May 16th, 1579 in Bradford, West Riding, England and his christening took place on May 16th, 1579 in Bilton Ainsty, Yorkshire, England.1 2 Edward's father was William Jewett and his mother was Cecely Bellyn. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Jewett and Elizabeth Shakelton; his maternal grandparents were Robert Bellyn and Cicely Poole. He was an only child.
