William's father was Thomas Jewett and his mother was Elizabeth Shakelton. He had four brothers and a sister, named John, Edward, Thomas, Richard and Margaret.  He was the youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 68 on February 17th, 1604 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England.¹
