Thomas was born on May 19th, 1683 in Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts.1  Thomas' father was John Giddings and his mother was Sara Alcock.  His paternal grandparents were George Giddings and Jane Lawrence; his maternal grandparents are John Alcock and Elizabeth. He had five brothers and four sisters, named George, John, Job, Solomon, Joshua, Elizabeth, Jane, Sarah and Mary.  He was the second youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 71 on September 3rd, 1754 in Lyme, New London County, Connecticut.  He was buried at the Marvin Cemetery, Lyme, Connecticut.1 1
