Naomi was born on January 17th, 1909 in New Lyme, Ashtabula County, Ohio.1 Naomi's father was Alfred Giddings and her mother was Maude Iona Gowdy. Her paternal grandparents were Cassius M. Giddings and Elizabeth Fenton. She had a brother and a sister, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Hiram, Mary and Lunetta. She was the oldest of the four children.-
