David was born about 1085 in Fordoun, Kincardineshire, Scotland.1   David's father was King Malcolm (King of Scots / King of Cumbrians) III and his mother was Queen Margaret Wessex.  His paternal grandparents were King Duncan (King of Scotland, King of Strathclyde) Dunkeld I and Sybilla (Queen of Scotland); his maternal grandparents were Edward Wessex and Agatha. He had a sister named Empress of Almain.  He was the older of the two children.  He died on May 24th, 1153 in Carlisle, Cumberland, England.1
