Paula's father was Alfons Moons and her mother was Clementine Swerts. Her maternal grandparents were Remi Swerts and Maria Catharina Gaethofs. She has five brothers and a sister, named Remi, Jozef, Leopold, Marcel, Etienne and Anna.-
