Maria was born on June 10th, 1635 in Heusden Zolder.1   Maria's father was Bartolomeus Gaethofs and her mother was Maria Postelmans.  Her paternal grandparents were Bartholomeus Gaethofs and Maria Beelen. She had a brother named Bartholomeus.  She was the older of the two children. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Melchior, Maria, Catherina, Anna and Maria.
