Franciska was born on October 28th, 1822 in Schaffen.1   Franciska's father was Gaspard Gaethofs and her mother was Antonia (Antonetta) Schillebeeks.  Her paternal grandparents were Joannes Gaethofs and Catherina Vandebos (Vandenbosch); her maternal grandparents were Hendrik Schillebeeks and Maria Molders. She had a brother and two sisters, named Ferdinand, Maria Christina and Maria Veronica.  She was the oldest of the four children. She had two half-sisters named Rosina and Maria Elisabeth Blanka.  She died at the age of 69 on March 3rd, 1892 in Eksel.2

‌Franciska and Hendrik were married in a civil ceremony on June 25th, 1851 in Paal.3   They had five sons and a daughter, named Lodewijk, Peter-Jan, Hendrick, Josephus, Joannes Martinus and Maria Philomena Norbertina.
