Elisabetha was born on November 7th, 1636 in Heusden Zolder.1   Elisabetha's father was Cornelius Gaethofs and her mother was Elisabeth Daniels.  Her paternal grandparents were Bartholomeus Gaethofs and Maria Beelen. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Bartholomy, Joannes, Petrus, Hubertus, Anna, Maria, Christina and Catherina.  She was the second youngest of the nine children.

‌Elisabetha and Henricus were married in a religious ceremony on February 14th, 1661 in Oostham.  They had a son and a daughter, named Anna and Cornelius.
