Bernard was born on September 7th, 1806 in Paal.¹

Birth Notes

Bernard's father was Joannes (Joannes) Gaethofs and his mother was Catherina Vandebos (Vandenbosch). His paternal grandparents were Joannes Michael Gaethofs and Anna Catharina Put; his maternal grandparents were Petrus Vandenbosch and Anna Bervoets. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Petrus Henricus (Hendrik), Gaspard, Joseph, Jean Michel, Casimire, Anne Marie, Joanna and Anna Coletta. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 70 on May 5th, 1877 in Tessenderlo.²
