Michiel  was born on November 13th, 1626 in Antwerp.1   His godfather was Petrus Leenaerts  and his godmother was  Joanna Brouwers.  Michiel 's father was Michael  BROERS  and his mother was Martens.  His paternal grandparents were Salomon  BROERS  and Maeyken (Van) Nimmeghene . He had a brother and a sister, named Salomon  and Elisabeth .  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Joannes , Michiel  and Maria .
