Jan was born on August 27th, 1740 in Duffel.¹ His godfather was Joannes Franciscus Broers and his godmother was Elisabeth Govaerts.

Jan 's father is BROERS , Petrus and his mother was Van [H]Itterbeek , Joanna. His paternal grandparents were BROERS , Antonius and Van Dyck , Gummara . He had four sisters named Maria , Elisabeth , Catharina and Anna . He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 4 on August 30th, 1744 in Duffel.²
