Delbert James was born in 1917.  Delbert James' father was William White and his mother was Provy Azbill.  His paternal grandparents were William White and Mary Hunt; his maternal grandparents were Linsfield Asbell and Ona Frances Gentry.  He was the youngest of eight children.  He had four brothers and three sisters, named Lethal R., Glendon, Russell E., Homer, Cora, Ada K. and Frances.  He died at the age of 68 in 1985.
