Provy was born in 1884.  Provy's father was Linsfield Asbell and her mother was Ona Frances Gentry.  Her paternal grandparents were James Asbell and Paulina Bicknell.  She was the fourth of eleven children.  She had six brothers and four sisters, named Elmer, Esmer, Coleman, Albert Cecil, Mahlon Robert, Floyd, Ollie F., Lucy, Eliza and Cynthia.  She died at the age of 70 in 1954.
