Myrtle was born in January 1894 in Oklahoma Territory, USA.  Myrtle's father was Huston F. Bicknell and her mother was Sarah Jane Isaacs.  Her paternal grandparents were Tyre Bicknell and Mariam Willis; her maternal grandparents were Linville Isaacs and Nancy Elizabeth Asbell.  She was the third of twelve children.  She had two brothers and nine sisters, named Alson, Frederick, Endis, Mafrey, Cordelia, Laura A., Minnie, Mattie, Rosa, Hallie and Eva Francis.  She had a half-brother named Carman H..
