Tyre was born in 1829.  Tyre's father was Linsfield Bicknell and his mother was Mary Paulina Asbell.  His paternal grandparents were Samuel Bicknell and Anne Parks; his maternal grandparents were John Asbell and Mary Elizabeth Coyle.  He was the nineth of fourteen children.  He had seven brothers and six sisters, named Perry C., John, Hiram, Hutson, Harrison, Patterson, William R., Serelda, Samaria, Mary Martha, Paulina, Nancy Rose and Elizabeth T..
