Linsfield Bicknell

Linsfield was born in 1785 in , Wilkes, NC, USA. Linsfield's father was Samuel Bicknell and his mother was Anne Parks. His paternal grandparents were William Bicknell and Rosanna Cash. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Thomas E., John, Benjamin, Randolph, Jane, Rhoda, Hannah and Nancy. He was the youngest of the nine children. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Lewis Terrell, Larkin Jones, Esanith, Clara and Dolly. He died at the age of 77 on May 12th, 1862 in near Locust Branch, Estill, KY, USA.

General Notes
- Linsfield was a War of 1812 spy. He served twice in Capt. Leslie COMBS company of spies; first from April 17, 1813 to June 3, 1813, and then from June 2, 1813 to September 29, 1813. On May 5, 1813, in Dudley's Defeat at a place called the Rapids of the Miami near Ft Meigs in Ohio, he was wounded in the shoulder by a tomahawk, splitting the cap of his shoulder. On July 15, 1834, in Madison Co, Kentucky, he made an application for an increase of pension because he was disabled by his shoulder wound that now "slips in and out of place." Started receiving pension July 28, 1820 of $48. Pension rolls of 1835 said he had received $710.53 to date.
  
  Linsfield and Mary's marriage was recorded twice, Apr 28, 1814 and the second date was 5 May 1814. Linsfield's name was spelled Lunsfield BECKNELL in the marriage records.

  Military service: April 17, 1813, War of 1812
  Property: September 11, 1838, He acquired 50 acres on Red Lick in Estill Co, Kentucky.
  Residence: Linsfield and Thomas went to Kentucky.
