John Asbell

John was born in 1784 in Randolph, North Carolina, USA.¹ John's father was William Asbell and his mother was Malinda Ross. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Asbell and Dorothy Ross; his maternal grandmother is C Van Gezel. He had a brother and three sisters, named William, Mary Nancy, Mahaly and Malinda. He is the oldest of the five children. He had seven half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Joseph, John, Roy, James, John Samuel, Aaron, Thomas Jefferson, Nancy, Betsy, Lydia Ann and Sarah.
