Albert was born about 1783.  Albert's father was Garrit de Gier and his mother was Berentjen Antink.  His paternal grandparents were Hendrik AWillem de Gier and Vrouw / Moeder; his maternal grandparents were Hendrik Antink and Vrouw / Moeder. He had three sisters named Harmiena, Hendrica (Hendrika) and Hendrina.  He was the second youngest of the four children.  He died on June 5th, 1849 in Hengelo.
