Gerrit Jan was born in 1873.  Gerrit Jan's father was Jacobus Henricus Bosman and his mother was Aaltjen Groot Roesink.  His paternal grandparents were Jan Bosman and Meggelijn Berendsen; his maternal grandparents were Gerrit Groot Roesink and Hilleken Wassink. He had two brothers named Hendrikus Albertus and Johannes Gradus.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 73 on February 21st, 1946 in Hengelo (Gld).1
