Willem was born on January 20th, 1781 in Silvolde and his baptism took place there on January 28th, 1781.1  Willem's father was Steven Lovinck (Lidmaat 1750) and his mother was Willemina Vriesen (Vriessen, Vriezen).  His paternal grandparents were Hendrick Jan Lovinck and Derksen Frericks; his maternal grandparents were Garrit Jan Vriessen and Berendina Rexwinkel. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Hendrik Jan, Gerrit Jan, Bernardus, Steven Hermanus, Derksen, Willemina, Jenneken and Grada.  He was the second youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 79 on January 2nd, 1861.
