Evert was born about 1857.  Evert's father was Jan Hendrik Kamphuizen and his mother was Wilhelmina Johanna Holtvoogd.  His paternal grandparents were Evert Kamphuizen and Janna Holmer; his maternal grandparents were Jan Hendrik Holtvoogd and Ariana Margaretha Meilink. He had a brother and six sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Jan Hendrik, Margaretha Adriana, Margaretha Adriana, NN, Johanna, Aaltjen, Wilhelmina Everdina and NN.  He was the oldest of the nine children.  He died on December 22nd, 1862 in Borculo.1
