Gerarda Geertruida was born on July 1st, 1882 in Oosterhout.1  Gerarda Geertruida's father was Wilhelmus Hendricus van Kempen and his mother was Willemina van Heumen.  His paternal grandparents were Johannes van Kempen and Amalia Wilhelmina Evers. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Wilhelmus Johannes, Christiaan Johannes, Antonius Albertus, Theodorus Johannes, Amelia Geertruida, Geertruida Amalia, Jacoba Hendrika, Hendrika Amelia and Wilhelmina Aleida.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Johannes Wilhelmus, Henri, Jacobus Johannes and Petronella Johanna.  He died at the age of 86 on August 18th, 1968 in Elst.2
