Cornelia was born on May 29th, 1902 in Wilnis, Utrecht. Cornelia's father was Izaäk Nap and her mother was Jannetje van der Horst.  Her paternal grandparents were Arie Nap and Cornelia Hoogendoorn; her maternal grandparents were Abraham van der Horst and Jannetje Oudshoorn / Oussoren. She had three brothers and a sister, named Arie, Cornelis, Jan and Mijntje.  Jan and Cornelia were twins.
